My physician, Donna Garnier, P.A. has withdrawn me from the Premarin I had been taking for a couple of years. I am now back to hot flashing (the reason I joined ASM in the first place) but at a milder level then before I went on the HRT. 14 May will be the 4th anniversary of my (ahem) surgery, and Donna will schedule me for another DEXA scan. I have made monthly payment #32 of 36 required payments for my Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Once I get out of that, the money I used to send to the Trustee will be sent to my 80 year old Mother in Seattle, now in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, so I will probably continue to lead a very frugal life after bankruptcy. One of my cats died (Czarina) and I picked up two new ones (Fluffy and Silver). They were 9 year old cats whose Guardian had died, and his family couldn’t think of anything better then take them to the pound to be put to sleep. Faith, who runs a local grooming shop, scooped them up and looked around for a sucker willing to adopt two old cats who could not be seperated. My third cat, Max, whom I have had for 2 years, is now 12 years old and still quite timid. I am now age 60, but will probably have to work another 10 years at the Post Office to obtain a reasonable amount of money for retirement. And just to show that it is NOT all doom-and-gloom, I should mention that the two years of Premarin have given my size B breasts. <G> Quite a sight. O yes, and will be 21 years sober on 17 March 2005. Yes, Saint Patrick’s Day.

Hi, Mary and welcome back! Congrats on losing more than 100 pounds of useless… whatever. And great that your son is back! Sorry to hear about your mother. We moved to NM (yay!) last summer. I’m tutoring ESL, taking Spanish 102 and being program administrator for a volunteer group that provides horseback riding to physically, emotionally and socially challenged children and adults. And just plain enjoying the mild winter and DRY climate here! Menopause is several years behind me now, though I still get the occasional hot flash, particularly after I indulge in a glass of wine or beer. IOW, doing great! Cathering, Gee your son went to Iraq? Well my advice? Try not to watch CNN every day…although I was very well educated on current events from doing so, my anxiety level suffered from it! Things I sent to Iraq…boy did the post office make some money on me!! His guitar, cases of chocolate mint covered oreos, pouches of tuna, menopause neck bands that stay cold (it was 140 degrees there in the summer!!!! They had to learn to give each other IV’s because of dehydration. Many guys just keeled right over!)Hey something new you might want to stock up on …. those little tiny pouches of drink mixes of Crystal Light (they supply water and gatoraide but it gets old…this way they can have their water and dump this in the bottle!!!! I sent hundreds of those. DVD’s (any and all) SOCKS SOCKS SOCKS!!! Get him a digital camera because the images from over there are totally amazing!! Magazines (any and all–I took a collection up at us airways and the employees brought in tons…litterally tons of magazines, dvd’s, puzzle books, stationary…oh and BATTERIES…BATTERIES…BATTERIES…FOR THEIR MP3′S OR IPODS, WHAT EVER! I even went to a Paper Mart store here in Pgh and got a Piniata that was in a soldiers uniform…filled it with candy (choc at a premium because it melts) and they bashed it on their last day there…boy they got their ya ya’s out on that thing!!!! TO ANSWER THE QUESTION ABOUT MY (NOT YET QUITE) X-HUSBAND AND WHAT HE’S BEEN LIKE? What did he send or do for my son in Iraq? 1 letter ( GOD— I THOUGHT HE WAS MORE HUMAN THAN THAT!!!! SAD BUT TRUE!) and then when he came home in Feb I asked him to make something to bring to the Armory for a pot luck thing, because I rented a limo to suprise my son (there were 14 of us and I invited the jerk! to ride along, for my sons sake) HE ACTUALLY HAD THE AUDACITY TO BITCH ABOUT THE 40BUCKS HE SPENT ON A VEGGIE TRAY!!! AHHH HAAAA WHAT’S THAT TELL YOU ABOUT THE MAN? I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION…THAT I DO NOT HAVE TO SAY A WORD ABOUT HIM TO MY SONS, HE IS HANGING HIMSELF…NATURALLY! MY HOME HAS DEVALUED BY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS SINCE I LEFT FOR ONE YEAR! MANY OF MY BELONGINGS THAT ARE STILL THERE ARE BROKEN! THE BOYS ARE LIVING IN UTTER FILTH (PART OF THAT I BLAME ON THEM TOO!) HE HAS AND PROBABLY HAS HAD A GIRL FRIEND. THE DAY MY MOTHER WENT TO ICU AND PUT ON A VENTILATOR, HE CALLED ME TO TELL ME I HAD TO WATCH MY SONS BECAUSE HE WAS LEAVING FOR FLORIDA THE NEXT DAY! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BUT HERE IS A FUNNY STORY I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH FOR NOW…. IT EXPLAINS A LOT IN SO FEW WORDS…. OMG
I had gotten a free organ at an estate sale for one of my sons. The people liked us so much, not only was it free, they helped deliver it to OUR house (that he lives in for free) for my son. The three boys and my husband came out to the van when the people got there, took it out and brought it into the house. My x husband and I were alone on the porch and I had a feeling he was going to say something emotional to me…something personal because he looked me in the eye and then looked down. Now, just picture a 6 foot 3, 288 lb man, who looks like Budda, on the verge of emotion! Instead, he bent over to pick something up on the porch and let out a MINUTE LONG WET FART!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL IMPRESSIVE, EH? I KNOW IT IS GROSS TO EVEN TALK ABOUT, BUT BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT WAS AT THAT MOMMENT I BURST OUT LAUGHING INSIDE, AS I WALKED TO MY CAR, I FINALLY SAID TO MYSELF, THIS IS WHAT ALMOST MADE ME LOSE MY MIND AFTER 21 YEARS? HOW CAN I LET A WET FART UPSET ME OR GET THE BEST OF ME EVER AGAIN???? NO WAY JOSE!!! NO WAY IN HELL!!!! AMEN!

When my friend’s daughter went to Desert Storm, she said there was plenty of food but it was terribly bland. So we sent her a box of condiments. Catsup, mustard, pickle relish, sure, but also Louisiana Hot Sauce, soy sauce, and every kind of thing we could find in the stores. She was very popular for a while with her fellow soldiers. :-) Chak — In mathematics you don’t understand things. You just get used to them. –Johann von Neumann

She was very popular for a while with her fellow soldiers. :-) Yes, I must tell you, I had soldiers i had never met, swarming me when they got off the bus thanking me! It made me feel good, as though I helped some how! You feel so helpless as a mother, when your son goes off to war. We are supposed to protect them and yes, at that age they are on their own, but a war zone??? It threw me into instant ANXIETY! Shhhh… dont tell anyone, but I’m hiding my other three boys, if bush even mentions iran… Im gonna be singing OH CANADA. I have always loved the people I have met there, so hopefully they wouldnt mind!
BTW…anyone heard from J lately?
